On Friday 6 December, I had the honour of taking part in a meeting of the UK consular network.
Gathered around Ambassador Hélène Duchêne and in the presence of Mr Olivier Cadic, Senator for French Nationals Abroad, we were able to exchange views with Ms Pauline Carmona, Director of French Nationals Abroad and Consular Administration, as well as our consular representatives and honorary consuls at the latest meeting of the consular network.
The aim was to exchange views on the issues they face, and to share our experience of the challenges we face in continuing to represent French people living in the UK and meeting their needs.
Everywhere in the UK, our elected representatives and honorary consuls provide support, act as relays and act as everyday French ambassadors.
