On the second leg of my trip to the North West of England, I met the French people of Liverpool and Chester on 25 February.
In the city of the Reds, after visiting the consular office - in an osteopath's surgery - I was able to talk to many committed French people. They told me about their expatriation experiences, as well as their innovative projects that are helping the French community in the UK to shine.

I then went to meet the teams at L'Artisane, an award-winning bakery in South Liverpool that offers French sandwiches, viennoiseries and pastries. And I can vouch for the quality of their products. Walter, the owner, talked to me about his entrepreneurial projects and his expatriation experience.

We ended the day with a group of French people living in Chester, at the Chez-François restaurant, for a citizens' meeting. It was an opportunity to discuss issues of concern to you: the digitisation of administrative procedures, bilateral relations between France and the UK, pensions, etc.

I would like to thank your honorary consuls, Aude Auclair and Chérif Salhi, and all the French people of Liverpool and Chester for their welcome.
