I've just come back from Ireland with some lessons on the French political situation!

For weeks, we've been telling you nonsense.

The Nouveau Front Populaire and France Insoumise have been telling you that by not choosing Lucie Castets as Prime Minister, the President has carried out an ‘undemocratic coup de force.

According to them, in ‘every country in the world’, it is those who finish first who are tasked with forming a government. Even if they don't have a majority. I'm a member of parliament for the French who live in Northern Europe and I wanted to check out what they were saying by going to see how things are done elsewhere in the same situation. And I've just come back from Ireland where I met an MP from Fine Gael. The Prime Minister's party.

And this party, Fine Gael, did not win the elections. It only came 3rd! Those who came first, Sinn Fein, didn't have enough MPs to have a majority in Parliament to pass laws. As a result, they were not given the task of forming, and do not even participate in, the Government of the country. And yet, no one there accused the President of a ‘coup de force’.

So when people tell you that ‘everywhere in the world’, it happens like that, do as I do, check it out for yourself!
