For this trip to Iceland, I had the chance to spend two days rich in meetings and exchanges with the French community, deeply attached to our country, despite the distance that separates us.
First I visited the Alliance Française in Reykjavík, which exudes our language and culture with remarkable enthusiasm.
I was also able to exchange with a volunteer from the Reykjavík Accueil association, the association that builds valuable links between French people at many convivial events.

The day after World Environment Day, I joined the team at the Carbfix geothermal power plant, a pioneer in the capture and storage of CO2, an innovation that perfectly illustrates Iceland’s desire to reconcile development and respect for nature.

A friendly exchange time was held at the invitation of the French Embassy in Iceland, which allowed me to take stock of the concerns and expectations of our compatriots, always committed and mobilized.

I also welcomed the sailors of the amphibious helicopter carrier Mistral, who were in Reykjavík as part of the Joan of Arc mission, to whom I wish a good sea for the rest of their mission.

Finally, I shared a warm moment around very French products at Sweet Aurora Reykjavik and La Cuisine, two establishments managed with talent by French residents.

I warmly thank all the French people of Iceland for their welcome and their commitment to our community beyond our borders.
