Two days in London : Lycée, naturalisation and Franco-British cooperation

As we prepared to conclude the discussions on drug trafficking in the French National Assembly, I headed for London for two intense days.

On Wednesday, I met Catherine Bellus-Ferreira, headmistress of the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle. We discussed the future of this emblematic school, looking ahead to future projects, the school climate and the challenges facing the educational community. These are all issues of legitimate concern to many French families living in London.

In the evening, I met up with the London super-activist team in a pub for a warm and friendly chat.

On Thursday morning, I had the pleasure of attending a naturalisation ceremony presided over by Samer Melki, Consul General of France in London. It was a powerful moment, a reminder of the richness of our community abroad and the importance of maintaining a link between our two countries.

Finally, at noon, I went to the French Embassy for a working lunch alongside Gérald Darmanin, Minister of Justice, and Hélène Duchêne, French Ambassador to the United Kingdom. We discussed Franco-British cooperation in the fight against organised crime. This is a major issue that requires close collaboration between our two countries.

I'll be back in London next week, so see you soon !
