UK - A weekend in London dedicated to education

On 9 and 10 May, I continued my trip to London with several meetings devoted to French teaching.

On Friday morning, I visited the EIFA International School in the heart of Marylebone with Patricia Connell, President of the Consular Council. In this multicultural school, I exchanged with a passionate teaching team on the challenges of French education in the post-Brexit context including recruitment, funding and attractiveness issues. Then I met the students of CM1, CM2 and 6th for a series of questions-answers on the role of an MP, political life... and even my favorite readings (yes, it’s The Little Prince). Thank you to Stéphane Kuhn, head of school, Nicolas Riondet and the whole team for their warm welcome.

The next morning, direction Ealing, for a meeting with the Petite École, an associative structure of the FLAM network that teaches French to more than 350 children and adults each week

Again, I saw how the commitment of teachers, volunteers and families is key to success. Last year, this school received the Premier Prix FLAM Monde: a deserved reward for Thomas, Chantal, Enguerran and all those who live this educational adventure.

Finally, I ended the day with music, with an exceptional concert of the Fauristes at the French Protestant church in London. A beautiful way to conclude this London sequence, between culture, transmission and collective spirit.
