The birthplace of Banksy, Bristol is also home to the second largest French community in the UK.
The first highlight of the day was a meeting with the French people of Bristol. Teachers, entrepreneurs, researchers and community leaders: they all embody the richness and dynamism of our community in the South West of England. Inspiring profiles, looking to the future and deeply involved in local life.

I then had the pleasure of visiting the French school in Bristol, which has an unique way of working: pupils are taught in French one day a week, while attending school in the British system the rest of the time. It's a great educational success story, reflecting the living link between our two countries. Thank you to the teaching staff for their warm welcome, and to the pupils for their questions !

The day ended with a convivial citizens' meeting, during which we took the time to discuss the issues of the day, the role of an MP and, of course, the life of the French in Bristol.

A big thank to all those who make this community so active, and especially to Nada Harward, Honorary Consul of France in Bristol, for her voluntary commitment and constant energy.
