Sweden - Day 2: Göteborg, the French community at the service of the school project

For my second trip to Sweden, I decided to visit Göteborg: the country's second largest city, but above all the second largest French community.

I had the pleasure of spending a day there, rich in exchanges, alongside those who keep our language and culture alive and strengthen the links between France and Sweden. One of the major issues discussed was the project to open a French school, which is being energetically supported by a local group.

This initiative, which is vital for the future of our community, bears witness to its vitality and its desire to establish a lasting presence in the city.

I also met the team at the Maison des Français de Göteborg, which is made up of French people who help to forge links between the city's expatriates. A real anchor point for new arrivals, this association is a pillar of community life.

These exchanges were also an opportunity to meet the Mayor of Göteborg, who is particularly attentive to the needs expressed by our community.

Finally, I ended the day with a visit to Volvo Group, in the company of the many French people who work there. An emblematic company at the heart of Franco-Swedish economic relations.

Many thanks to all of you for your warm welcome, and in particular to Robert Hörnquist, Honorary Consul, and Noémie Green, Councillor for French Nationals Abroad, for their daily commitment to the French in Gothenburg.
