11 November commemoration ceremony

On 11 November 1918 at 11.00 am, the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, the bells and bugles of France sounded the ceasefire of the Great War.
For 106 years, we have commemorated the memory and sacrifice of the millions who fell on the field of honour.

I am honoured to have been able to pay my respects to them this morning at Brookwood Cemetery with Minister Counsellor Sébastien Bidaud, Defence Attaché Rear Admiral Luc Raynal, Consul General of France in London Samer Melki and Madame Amelie Ersman Mallet.

Today, poppies and cornflowers are blooming together.
